Students Learn About Santa Claus School

Albion Middle School seventh-grader Kendall Derisley gets a Santa-sized hug from Charles W. Howard expert Ken McPherson during a recent visit to Mr. Archer’s service-learning classes. McPherson talked about the rich history of the once popular Santa Claus School and Christmas Park located on Phipps Road in Albion. The school was started in 1937, and the Christmas Park opened its doors in 1954. The school is currently being run in Michigan utilizing the same manual that Howard wrote in the mid-1930s.
