Albion Lion’s Club Thanks Community

The members of the Albion Lion’s Club would like to the thank the community for its generous support during our recent fundraisers, the spring and summer months have been busy for the 21 club members.  We had a very successful Mother’s Day rose sale: 240 dozen roses were ordered.  Of those, 230 were bought by members in the community, seven dozen were donated by the club to the Villages of Orleans, and three dozen were delivered to widows of past members.  We had our geranium sale just before Memorial Day and participated in a community-wide cleanup doing yard work with the help of the members of Boy Scout Troup #164.

We would also like to thank all of you that came out to support our annual Sausage Booth at the Strawberry Festival and our newest event, “Rock the Park” on Sat., Aug. 23, at the Elks club.

All proceeds generated by these community-oriented fundraisers go back to the community in various ways.  A few examples of what we will do this year are Lion’s Club scholarships for graduating Seniors in the Albion School District; donation to the Main Street Alliance for the new flags; a pledge to help rebuild Bullard Park and donations to the Lions Camp Badger in Spencer, N.Y. (Camp Badger is the Home of the Empire State Special Needs Experience, Inc.).

Thank you again, without your generous support we would not be able to do all that we have!
